This one-day workshop will focus on the rationale for and how we effectively support and work with families, carers and supporters of young people with mental health challenges. This workshop will be helpful for a broad range of mental health practitioners and lived experience workforces working in child and youth mental health services.

The ADI-R is a semi-structured diagnostic interview to assess behaviours related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ADI-R typically takes between 90 minutes to 3 hours. The course is designed to teach clinicians how to administer and code ADI-R with parents/carers of children and young people with suspected autism.

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a semi-structured, standardised assessment of communication, social interaction, and play. It provides a series of standardised contexts in which the individual's social communication, and repetitive, stereotyped behaviours can be observed. It has been designed to assist in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and is a complementary instrument to the Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R). Standardised toys and activities are used to present opportunities for social and communicative interaction with the examiner. A diagnostic algorithm consistent with DSM-V and ICD-10 clinical diagnoses is generated.

This half day live webinar looks at attachment theory, and current knowledge about attachment in autistic children and youth. Assessment and treatment using attachment models will be addressed as well as an overview of the Parent Development Interview, a research tool that assesses parental reflective function.
