This session is designed to support Family Carer Lived Experience Workers (FCLEW) with developing relational skills and discipline-specific knowledge needed to navigate systemic resistance, overcome barriers to connection, and build confidence in supporting families experiencing profound distress.
In this session, we will explore:
-
Working in Clinical Environments & Ethical Dilemmas: Maintaining discipline integrity and finding your voice in spaces that can often be unwelcoming.
-
Techniques for Staying Curious & Connecting: Navigating difficult conversations with purpose, overcoming barriers to connection, and managing conflict using relational skills.
-
Responding to Distress: Discipline-specific responses to crisis, and how to support profound distress in our work.
The Collective FCLEW workshops are intentionally designed for interaction, mutual learning, and deep-dive discussions. This workshop offers a unique space to build a deeper connection to your daily work. Through the mutual sharing of our expertise, we will cultivate the community and collective wisdom that defines our discipline.
Eligibility criteria: All registrants for this training must be employed in a Family Carer Lived Experience role in Victoria.
Due to limits on the number of registrants who can attend the training, those new to the workforce will be prioritised.
